Modric Leaving for Chelsea

Some reports have confirmed that Luka Modric admitted that he can leave Tottenham Hotspur for Chelsea. It was said that the footballer has been preparing for the exit and even for the move to another football club. He has been actually on the headlines with him wishing to leave but also hoping to stay in London.

Modric said: “If somebody comes to the club and the offer is good for me and acceptable to them, then I want to leave. I want to leave Tottenham as friends. I have enjoyed my time there, but now it is right for me to look at another club. I have an arrangement with the chairman. When I signed my new contract, he said that, if another club came to sign me, they would consider the offer. But I won’t ask for a transfer. That would be disrespectful.”

Some supporters of Modric were saddened with their favorite’s admission. According to the reports, they wanted him to stay and not actually make an exit and then move to another football club. But then, they have been there for him and for his choices and the likes, may they appear good or bad. Thus, they must have also learned to just be happy with it. It must be not easy to but they must have also really tried to.

Modric said: “Chelsea are a big club with an ambitious owner. They have great players and they have ambitions to fight for the title and win the Champions League. I want to stay in London. I am very happy here and so are my family. I don’t want to have an argument with Tottenham. The supporters have been very good to me and I have enjoyed my time playing for the club, but it is for football that players leave clubs and move.”

Redknapp Praised His Players

Reports have just confirmed that manager Harry Redknapp was pleased by the fighting spirit of his men during the game on Sunday, which they actually ended up winning. And it was said that Redknapp praised his men for greatly believing that they will make it and they did. They indeed won game against Liverpool 2-1.

Redknapp said: “The lads showed great character. To come back from behind again was just amazing. I’ve had teams in the past at times when they go one down and you might as well go home. With this team we come back and keep going. There’s goals, we’re exciting, we play fantastic, open football and we’re never out of a game. I think we’ve got the ability to always create chances, that’s for sure.”

While Redknapp was pleased by the fighting spirit of his men, Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson could not smile then with central defender Jamie Carragher going out of the game with a dislocated shoulder, failing to really help the club win.

Hodgson said: “It’s very bad. He’s dislocated his shoulder. It’s an unfortunate thing to happen on his 450th appearance in the Premier League. He’s a very important player for us. We’ll now be without him and Steven Gerrard and they are the lifeblood of our club. To lose in injury time in the way we did is very hard to take. I’m very disappointed for the players, very disappointed that we didn’t come away from here with at least one point which would have been something we could have been proud of.”

Of course, supporters of Redknapp and of Tottenham Hotspur were glad with what men of Tottenham Hotspur showed during the game against Liverpool. They showed great fighting spirit that made them successful on such a Sunday match against another great club.

Yes, Liverpool’s 0-2 loss to Arsenal surprised followers of English Premier League. The loss happened despite the fact that Liverpool was playing then right in front of club’s home crowd at Anfield.

The final result of the game was actually more about what Arsenal showed than what Liverpool had. Just a month ago, the club was defeated 3-0 by Chelsea FC which actually top the league. Arsenal were most likely at their lowest point in the season just after the loss.

Such unfortunate happening put Arsenal 11 points away from the leaders and then seemed unsure how will they go up once again. Thus, the past weeks have been so exciting because of happenings like such.

Arsenal has been making their way back up the English Premier League standings. And it’s worth mentioning that when almost all of the frontrunners did not make it to capitalize in their games during Sunday, Gunners were still eager to play A-game. Frontrunners were the likes of Tottenham that lost 0-1 to the Wolves and Man Utd that lost 0-1 to Aston Villa.

But then, it was Liverpool that scored first and the club’s goal was the only goal for the first half. Gunners managed to show what they’ve got in the second half and became really different, thus giving the angry Wenger reason to eventually feel little good.

Liverpool began the second half 0-1 down. However, by full time the club made it 2-1 in own favor in front of club’s fans that were quieter then. Cesc Fabregas, Arsenal captain, just said, “At half time the boss … said we didn’t deserve to wear the Arsenal shirt if we played like that. He was right”.

The past weeks really have been so exciting, and of the reasons for this is truly the game between Liverpool and Arsenal.
