It seemed that Alan Pardew was truly happy with the consistency of Newcastle United being there in the season, as revealed by the reports. The manager insisted it was there even in the start of the season and it really helped achieve the current league table spot. However, he must be also hopeful with the season being long.

Pardew said: “It’s certainly helped to have that continuity in the side, particularly the back four who have been outstanding together as a unit. They’ve developed a very good understanding with each other. Continuity is great for confidence within the team and that has definitely contributed to our good start. That said, our entire squad is of huge importance. Against Everton, for example, where we had to make changes due to injury, I was delighted with the way other players such as Danny Guthrie came in and fitted seamlessly into the team.”

Mike Williamson must be also happy with the consistency of Newcastle United being present. It existed even in the beginning of the season and it was truly helpful, however, the footballer considered it not enough in a way. The consistency may not be already around in the next stages of the season, and the football team may not really make it. It must be good for him to simply continue with the job and only find out whether or not the football team will succeed in the season. It must be true, with him and his football team still moving to the more important stages and with other top football teams like Manchester City, Manchester United, and Chelsea. It must be really helpful for him and the others to.

Williamson said: “The fact is we get a points tally each month. If we maintain that we’re looking at a top-10 finish. At the moment we’ve exceeded it, which is fantastic.”

The footballer performed very well in the game against Bolton Wanderers. And indeed, for delivering accordingly in the match he looked prepared for it according to the manager.

Wenger said: “For me, I’m very pleased with his performance. He showed intelligent link play and the quality of his goal was exceptional. His finishing is absolutely fantastic. For me he has shown tonight that he is a very good player. He’s ready to play for league games, compared to the player who played in the first league game, where he was a bit inhibited; tonight he played with freedom and showed what a good player he is.”

Thomas Vermaelen also returned and seemed in good condition too according to Wenger. The footballer also performed properly in the same game. But despite his performance in the match, he still looked unprepared for the next game. He needed to deal with certain problem in his calves and may still need to even in the next match. But he may be able to also be completely done with it and be ready for the game. And his supporters can just wish that he will also really get to.

Wenger, in addition, said: “He did very well but picked up a calf problem, I hope it’s not too bad. He will be a bit short maybe for Saturday, I don’t know yet what I will do, we’ll have to test him tomorrow, it didn’t look too bad. He has been out for so long time, he had only one training session yesterday with the team. We don’t think it’s a calf strain, just tight calves, because he has not played in months. He wanted to come off but I did not want to take him off.”

Reports revealed that for Vincent Kompany the progress of Manchester City will be good for the English Premier League. Also for the footballer, even the growth of Tottenham Hotspur will be. More football clubs can win the league title. Even the two mentioned can already do so.

Kompany said: “I think Tottenham and ourselves doing well in the past few years has been great. Had it just been the same four sides challenging each season, it would have damaged the game here. Now there are maybe six teams capable of winning the title and that can only be great for English football. We finished equal-second last season so there is only one spot to go for this year – and that’s to win the title. It’s a big challenge – but why not? There is pressure and expectation on us but that’s what we want.”

And it must be true that the progress of Manchester City will be good for the English Premier League and it may just get even better. And even the growth of Tottenham Hotspur may also become better. More football clubs may just show great capability of winning the league title. And supporters will be very happy, most especially the ones for the league itself they will be very glad with the league just being more exciting and eventually becoming more popular. May the football clubs just continue to show progress. And they will, also with their supporters just being there for them. They will go on just having growth with these people also giving them the support that they need to.

Kompany said: “I don’t see what we achieved last season as anything other than the beginning. The club has changed on and off the pitch since the new owners arrived. But our fans deserve success as much as other great clubs.”

It was revealed by the reports the Roberto Mancini was happy with how Manchester City started the season also with the football team at good position in the league standings. The football squad was also really good in the game against Tottenham Hotspur. For the boss, it must a good season despite it also being a very, very long one.

Mancini said: “I think this season is very, very long. It was important that we started the season very well. Now we have lots of players going off to play for their national team for 10 days, so we can’t see all the players for about 10 days, so (the) next game will probably be very hard because now everyone thinks we can score three of four in every match, but that is not possible. At the moment I think we have to work to play like today and at the end of the season we will see what we have achieved.”

And Harry Redknapp must be also positive with how Manchester City started the season. Most likely, for the boss, the football club was able to also because of its very good forward players. And most probably, for him, the season will be really challenging most especially to all other football teams. But the others can also make it. With all of their supporters around, they will also do well despite against the football squad of Mancini. They will have the support that they will need to. Most likely, they will also be good.

Redknapp said: “Once you get a couple of goals down from a good side like that it’s really difficult, they’re full of quality there’s no doubt about that. They’ve got fantastic forward players, they’re going to be difficult for anyone to contain them for 90 minutes.”

It was confirmed by some reports that Owen Hargreaves has been having talks with West Bromwich Albion. And supporters of the footballer must be happy with him deciding to also listen to what the football club has to say. They have been aware that the football club has been also interested of having his signature. And it was said that Dan Ashworth was the one who also conceded that he has been doing so actually already for some time.

Ashworth said: “We have been in talks with Owen. He’s based over in the United States at the moment so we might try to get to meet him in the next week or so and see if he would consider coming to us. If Owen is fit to play Premier League football, it is a no-brainer. Make no mistake, Owen Hargreaves is a fantastic player. He’s shown he’s a top, top player from his England, Manchester United and Bayern Munich days. Obviously, Owen has had a few medical issues over the last few years. But we would be absolutely delighted to get a fit Owen Hargreaves.”

Hargreaves must be also thinking of really accepting any offer from West Bromwich Albion. And his supporters will just be there to support him when he already decides to. They must have been also wishing for a new contract to come for him to accept. And yes, Ashworth confirmed that the said football club has been also interested of having him and the footballer has been also communicating.

Ashworth, in addition, said: “The three things we’ve got going for us are: one, we’re in the Premier League, which is attractive in itself; the second thing is we’ve got a fantastic medical team. I think that’s attractive to Owen, that we’ve got a proven track record in the last couple of years of maintaining players and keeping them out on the pitch, which is the most important thing. Thirdly, we were the first club to contact him.”

For Alex Ferguson, the Premier League title has been always a must-have title. And yes, the Manchester United boss revealed recently that with all of the recent happenings, more than ever, his football club only deserves to win it. It was said that supporters of the football club also believe that it is. For them, it should have it this year.

Ferguson said: “It’s fantastic to be the most successful team in the country. The minute we won that first title in 1992 the door opened and we’ve been involved in the first two all throughout that period. It’s a fantastic achievement. For the last 17 or 18 years, it’s been Arsenal and Chelsea as our nearest challengers and the last few years it’s been Chelsea. Arsenal made a great attempt this year, but them losing today has finalised it. We deserve the title and hopefully we’ll get that point now.”

And according to the reports, Carlo Ancelotti also believes that Manchester United should have the Premier League title this year of course with how the football club played in the match against Chelsea. And supporters of Ferguson and of that of his football club were said to be all glad to know that even the boss of the other acknowledged how Manchester United did in the recent match, and even all past matches, and for him should just win the title this year. Chelsea has been actually one of the rivals really hard to beat in England’s primary football competition.

Ancelotti said: “Manchester United played better than us and deserved to win and deserved to win the title this year. Manchester United has a possibility now to take a point that they need to win the title. We have another two games and we want to finish the season well.”

Roberto Mancini has revealed just recently that for him Manchester City must be in the Champions League. For the boss, his football club has been really trying to finish as one of the top four football clubs in the Premier League and so must only be in the competition considered as the most prestigious in the world of football.

Mancini said: “Everything is in our hands. We’ve been between first and fourth position all season. After what we’ve done, we deserve to be in the Champions League. We are not under pressure. We know we have a big chance in this moment. The Champions League was our target at the start of the season and we are in a good position. We’re also in the FA Cup final so we’ve done a good job.”

But of course, Mancini also revealed that Manchester City will most likely also have to continue really trying to make in the Premier League so to also be in the Champions League. The boss acknowledged that his football club still has four games to win and so as Tottenham Hotspur. At the time that the boss talked about his football club really trying to finish as one of the top four football clubs in the Premier League to also make it to the Champions League, his football club was leading but was aware that should not stop performing well. For him, his football club can’t stop really trying to do well in order for what they’ve been wishing to happen, finally happen.

Mancini said: “We will relax after May 22. We must get the maximum points we can do. We have four games left and so do Tottenham. The next game (against Tottenham) will be very hard for us but it’s important to get a positive result.”

This weekend’s matches kicks off on Saturday with seven of the ten matches taking place and Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton starting it all at 12:45. Manchester United, current table leaders, will be looking to stretch their current lead over Arsenal when they host Fulham.

Odds all courtesy of bwin online sportsbook.

Saturday 9 April 2011 Matches

Wolverhampton Wanderers v Everton – Molineux at 12:45 – Odds: 2.45 v 2.80

The previous three times these two teams have met up for a match have all ended as draws, which includes last August’s 1-1 draw. In the last three home matches, the Wolves have secured seven points while Everton remain unbeaten for five matches, including three wins.

The Wolves will possibly have Steven Fletcher back on board but will fight against Everton without Kevin Doyle with a knee problems as well as Dave Edwards and Ronald Zubar who are out with back issues.

Ankle injuries will keep both Jack Rodwell and Seamus Coleman off the field for Everton and Tim Cahill is expected to miss due to a foot injury.

Blackburn Rovers v Birmingham City – Ewood Park at 15:00 – Odds: 1.90 v 4.00

2-1 in favor of the home team is how the three last meetings between these two have finished. Birmingham City has been unable to scrap a victory while at Blackburn since January 1968 when they triumphed 2-1. Blackburn has only been able take a single point from their previous three home matches and are currently two points from slipping back into the relegation zone.

A three-game suspension begins Saturday for Blackburn’s Steven Nzonzi but Gael Givet and Morten Gamst should both be available. Keith Andrews and Vince Grella are both out with Andrews just having a groin operation and Grella out for the season.

Birmingham City will be without Martin Jiranek and David Bentley. The Blues manager gives a 50-50 chance of Obafemi Martins and Nikola Zigic to be on the field and fit due to groin injuries. They will also continue without Scott Dann and James McFadden due to hamstring and knee issues.

Bolton Wanderers v West Ham United – Reebok Stadium at 15:00 – Odds: 2.10 v 3.40

Bolton has secured their last seven meetings throughout all the leagues while West Ham United has lost nine of their last 11 in all leagues and seven consecutive in the Premier League. West Ham has been unable to win at Bolton since back in November 1995 when they had a 3-0 victory while Bolton has won their previous three matches at home but the Hammers have won their last four away matches.

The Wanderers will likely see a return of both Zat Knight and Mark Davies while Sam Ricketts, Sean Davis and Stuart Holden remain on the sidelines due to injuries.

West Ham’s Avram Grant will serve a ban to the stands but at least the Hammers have no new injuries. The team will still be without Junior Stanislas and Jack Collison.

Chelsea v Wigan Athletic – Stamford Bridge at 15:00 – Odds: 1.20 v 15.00

In the last two matches against Wigan Athletic, Chelsea has dominated without allowing a score to come in by Wigan resulting in a May 2010 8-0 match and an August 6-0 match resulting in 14 goals for Chelsea and 0 for Wigan. The only victory that Wigan has seen at Stamford Bridge was a 1-0 win in 1980 on New Year’s Day for the FA Cup. Wigan have five consecutive losses on the road while Chelsea has taken nine points from the previous four matches at home.

Chelsea has no new injury concerns and has a complete squad to choose from with Alex possibly making his first appearance since last November but will start on the bench and David Luiz is back after previously being cup tied.

Wigan also has no new injury concerns with Gary Caldwell being fit after requiring emergency dental work and Connor Sammon will hope for his first start after signing with the Athletics and having three substitute emergences.

Manchester United v Fulham – Old Trafford at 15:00 – Odds: 1.45 v 7.00

Since the October 2003 visit to Old Trafford that resulted in a 3-1 victory, Fulham has been unable to win the past six matches against Manchester United there and were only able to get three goals. Fulham is inching away from the relegation zone slowly by winning two out of three previous matches; however, Manchester United have only let go of two points all season at home.

Manchester will be without Wayne Rooney and Rafael but for different reasons. Rooney will start serving a two-game suspension while Rafael suffered bruising Wednesday to his knee. However, United will re-join with John O’Shea who has been out with his hamstring as well as Wes Brown who suffered a pretty good blow last month.

Damien Duff is doubtful for Fulham due to an Achilles injury but Aaron Hughes is expected to be fit for play as is Bobby Zamora.

Sunderland v West Bromwich Albion – Stadium of Light at 15:00 – Odds: 2.20 v 3.20

West Bromwich Albion have secured two straight victories over Sunderland and will aim to complete a third as they travel to the Stadium of Light Saturday. Since a new coach came on board, Roy Hodgson, West Brom have not let a win slip in their previous five matches while Sunderland has only been able to snatch up a single point from their previous seven fixtures.

Titus Bramble and Fraizer Campbell are both sidelined for Sunderland due to knee issues for both guys and David Meyler is still sidelined. But, after being ineligible last week, Nedum Onuoha will be in contention for a spot on the field this week. In addition, Kieran Richardson, Sulley Muntari and Phil Bardsley who had been out due to various injuries are expected to all be fit for Saturday’s fixture.

As for West Brom, the team will still be without Graham Dorrans but James Morrison is expected to be fit.

Tottenham Hotspur v Stoke City – White Hart Lane at 15:00 – Odds: 1.70 v 5.00

The last three meetings between these two have all been won by the visiting side resulting in Stoke City having lost two of those at home 2-1 but were able to grab the other by 1-0. In the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur has drawn three times and if they plan on securing a place in the UEFA Champions League, they definitely have some ground to make up.

Aaron Lennon is doubtful due to an illness but will give him a late fitness test as well as Niko Kranjcar and Vedran Corluka. However, the team will be without Steven Pienaa, Jonathan Woodgate, Alan Hutton and Younes Kaboul. Good news for the team is that Ledley King is back to light duty training since a second operation for his groin injury won’t be required.

Stoke City won’t have Danny Higginbotham on the field for possibly up to six months due to a knee ligament injury. Thomas Sorensen and Abdoulaye Faye are both expected to be fit for Saturday and Jermaine Pennant should even be expected as well.

Sunday 10 April 2011 Matches

Blackpool v Arsenal – Bloomfield Road at 13:30 – Odds: 8.25 v 1.35

Currently threatened by the drop zone, Blackpool hosts Arsenal, who is currently trying to catch Manchester United to grab the Premier League title and are trailing by seven points after drawing three fixtures. Blackpool will look to cause an upset after visiting Arsenal and losing 6-0 in August. Blackpool needs this win to survive and climb from the drop zone after being able to just capture one point from the previous four fixtures. The Seasiders haven’t seen success against the Gunners since a 5-3 win in October 1965.

Blackpool’s DJ Campbell served his three-game suspension and will be available Sunday but David Carney won’t play due to a should injury that will require surgery. Matt Gilks won’t be available for the squad but has been playing for reserves.

Arsenal has several players out including Johan Djourou, Wojciech Szczesny and Thomas Vermaelen who are all rehabbing their injuries as well as Alex Song who is out with his knee. Bacary Sagna and Theo Walcott will both be late fit decisions but Aaron Ramsey is set to return.

Aston Villa v Newcastle United – Villa Park at 16:00 – Odds: 1.80 v 4.30

Aston Villa are also looking to cause an upset at Villa Park after a huge 6-0 hammering by Newcastle United in August. Plus, Aston Villa need this win to further themselves from the drop zone. The Magpies head to Villa Park after a 4-1 victory over the Wolverhampton Wanderers, which gives them a boost of much-needed confidence since they have been unable to win any of the previous three visits here. However, the Villans have only been able to secure a miniscule point from their previous three fixtures.

Ciaran Clark will return for Aston Villa after a two-game suspension being served making a full squad to choose from at full strength.

On the other side of things, Newcastle United has enough injury concerns for both managers. Newcastle will be without trio James Perch, Cheick Tiote and Kevin Nolan due to suspension but Russ Taylor will be back in contention as will Jose Enrique. However, Stephen Ireland will be ineligible for the match due to his loan agreement.

Monday 11 April 2011 Match

Liverpool v Manchester City – Anfield at 20:00 – Odds: 2.60 v 2.65

Monday, Manchester City will visit Liverpool in hopes of strengthening their race for a place in the Champion Leagues while the home side will look to secure a win after a 2-1 loss against West Brom. Now, Manchester City have already secured a 3-0 victory against Liverpool this season in August and will look to make that happen again. The previous two meetings of the teams at Anfield have resulted in draws but the four prior to that were won by the Reds by just a solitary goal. The Blues haven’t been victorious at Anfield since a 2-1 win in May 2003 and have also been unable to win any of their previous three road fixtures. At home, out of a possible 12 points, the Blues have taken 10 while Liverpool haven’t been victorious at home since manager Kenny Dalgish returned but have won four out their six on the road fixtures with the other two resulting in draws.

Steven Gerrard, captain for Liverpool, is set to miss the rest of the season due a groin issue. Hamstring issues are likely to keep Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly out for another month and knee tendon issues ended Daniel Agger’s campaign.

Manchester City welcomes back Pablo Zabaleta who left to visit his father in Argentina after being involved in a serious car accident. Three – Edin Dzeko, Gareth Barry and James Milner– will compete for a spot on the squad after resting Sunday while Jerome Boateng and Micah Richards remain sidelined for knee and hamstring injuries respectively.

The Barclay’s Premier League, widely considered the top football league in the world, continues with league play this coming weekend and will definitely not disappoint with several great fixtures. Chelsea hosts Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, Liverpool visits the Stadium of Light playing Sunderland and Old Trafford welcomes the Bolton Wanderers to play against the current league leader Manchester United. The bottom of the league, 11 to 20, is separated by a mere 8 points and any of the teams could end up in the relegation zone if not careful. With roughly a quarter of the season remaining, the battle to avoid relegation is far from over.

Saturday, 19 March 2011

Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham United – White Hart Lane

This is an important game for Tottenham Hotspurs considering that they dropped in the table from fourth to fifth this past week to Chelsea. While they are only 3 points behind Chelsea, they are a mere 5 points behind Manchester City with a game in hand on them. While the expectation is for Tottenham to pull out a victory at home, West Ham is currently placed 18th and fighting to move out of the relegation zone. They are currently tied in points with Birmingham at 31. A road win and results going their way could pull them out of the relegation zone and up a potential 5 spots on the table.

Aston Villa v Wolverhampton Wanderers – Villa Park

Aston Villa is hosting Wolverhampton and this match has a battle with teams separated by a minuscule 4 points. Aston Villa is 13th and Wolverhampton stands 19th on the table in the relegation zone. Wolverhampton is currently riding a wave of several good games. It started several weeks ago with a win while visiting Manchester United, a tie on the road with West Bromwich Albion, a win at home against Blackpool, and a 3-3 tie with Tottenham Hotspur. Aston Villa just recently lost to Manchester City in the FA Cup and to the Bolton Wanderers in their last league match.

Blackburn Rovers v Blackpool – Ewood Park

This match features two teams next to each other on the table. Each team needs a win here to earn some breathing room and three valuable points to move further from the relegation zone. With the teams tied with 32 points and each coming off two consecutive league losses, the questions are more about Blackburn’s manager, Steve Kean. There have been calls for his sacking after the team has lost three of their last four league matches. Blackburn owners have given Keane their support, but another loss and closer movement towards relegation could easily change that.

Manchester United v Bolton Wanderers – Old Trafford

The league leaders, Manchester United, host the Bolton Wanderers at Old Trafford this weekend. United is coming off a 2 – 0 victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup but has lost its last two league matches. They gave up 3 points to Chelsea only scoring one goal to the Blue’s 2. They followed that match up with a 3 – 1 loss to Liverpool. Now, these two matches were on the road so it is understandable how it was difficult to earn points. However, with a Champion’s League match with Marseille this Tuesday, it will be interesting to see what team Sir Alex fields at home. Bolton is coming off a two game win streak, with a victory over Birmingham in the FA Cup and a league win over Aston Villa. Look for them to come out firing on United with the team responding to its last two league matches.

Stoke City v Newcastle United – Britannia Stadium

Stoke City and Newcastle meet currently standing in the middle of the table. Stoke City at 12th and Newcastle at 10th. Newcastle is in better shape with 36 points over Stoke City’s 34 but neither is completely out of potential relegation yet. However, it would be very unlikely for either to drop but they do need to earn more point to earn breathing room. The biggest question regarding Newcastle is whether they are currently on the market for sale. Owner Mike Ashley had tried to sell the Magpies in 2008 but later puller them off the market. Regardless, there are rumors that an Indian Consortium has expressed interest.

West Bromwich Albion v Arsenal – The Hawthorns

Arsenal currently sits second on the table and a mere 3 points behind league leader Manchester United with a game in hand. No game is a guaranteed victory but Arsenal is definitely the heavy favorites even on the road. West Bromwich Albion sits at 16th on the table and with 32 points is teetering on the edge of the relegation zone.

Wigan Athletic v Birmingham – DW Stadium

This game marks the lowest team in the Premier League, Wigan Athletic, hosting the 17th ranked team, Birmingham. This is a must win game for both teams and for Wigan Athletic the road is looking bleak. Their following two matches are Tottenham and Chelsea. A win for either team doesn’t guarantee safety or movement from the relegation zone but for Birmingham would give them a small room of wiggle room depending on other results from the weekend.

Everton v Fulham – Goodison Park

Everton and Fulham are both two teams safely in the middle of the Premier League table. With Everton at 9th and Fulham at 11th and a quarter of the season left these two teams could use some more points to mathematically guarantee safety but it is a very safe bet to assume that both appear next season in the same league. Fulham was recently eliminated from the FA Cup but won their previous Premier League match against Blackburn. The American forward/midfielder, Clint Dempsey, is leading the team with 9 goals and look for him to capitalize and increase his goal total before the end of the season.

Sunday, 20 March, 2011

Sunderland v Liverpool – Stadium of Light

This match features two teams with solid histories in the Premier League. Neither team will be able to pull off the regular season title but with a little luck on its side and some solid performances Liverpool may be able to pull of the 4th spot and earn a Champion’s League spot for the Premier League. Fulham is coming off two league losses followed by a 0 – 0 tie with Arsenal while Liverpool’s last league game was a 3 – 1 victory over league leader Manchester United.

Chelsea v Manchester City – Stamford Bridge

Clearly the match of the weekend features fourth place Chelsea hosting third place Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. This game is tremendous for both teams. A win for Chelsea moves them up to third with a game in hand over league leader Manchester United and a mere 6 points back. The battle for the top spot is likely going to come down to the final weekend of the season. The recent transfer from Liverpool, Fernando Torres, has admitted that he has had trouble adapting to life in London since he moved from Liverpool. Guaranteed it will take a time to adjust to a new location but he has commented that life with Chelsea is more enjoyable and fun than with his previous club Liverpool. It is just a matter of time for his first strike to reach the back of the net for the Blues and when he does, more will follow and the title race is all up for grabs. Manchester City needs to win to keep their place and to potentially move up to second on the table. Both teams are expected to field their top players and expect Manchester City’s Carlos Tevez to be playing with a chip on his shoulder. Recently he has been omitted from Argentina’s roster for several matches and the thought is that the omission is punishment for stepping down from the match against Brazil due to injury and then playing for Manchester City several days later.

Sunday, 27 February 2011 Matches

West Ham United vs. Liverpool

Sitting in an uneasy 19th place in the point standings, West Ham United will host Liverpool in hopes of securing a boost away from the rough edge in points. West Ham United will be on the field without several key players this week. Jack Collision is still on his recovery route from a knee injury but could possibly be back with his teammates before the end of March. Victor Obinna will unlikely be on the field due to a foot injury and Robbie Keane will be sidelined with a strained calf. While Matthew Upson, who has been out with an Achilles injury, has participated in light training activities, he isn’t expected to be on the field for Sunday’s match. Danny Gabbidon has recovered from his hamstring issue and will likely find himself as part of the squad on Sunday. Liverpool’s captain has been out the past three matches due to an injury to his groin but Steven Gerrard is expected to possibly return to the squad for Sunday’s fixture. Andy Carroll is unlikely to make his debut still due to an issue with his thigh and Fabio Aurelio is doubtful as well with an adductor issue while Luis Suarez will be eligible to play after being ineligible in the past few European matches.

Manchester City vs. Fulham
One of Sunday’s fixture is between 3rd place Manchester City, who will host, and 13th place Fulham. One of the largest doubts to be on the field for Manchester City is Vincent Kompany due to an injury to his hip, which he incurred from Thursday night’s triumph in the Europa League. Kolo Toure is the likely replacement but Jerome Boatend is also a possibility. There are still plenty of other players out as well including James Milner with a hamstring injury, Micah Richards with a calf injury and both Adam Johnson as well as Nigel de Jong are out with ankle injuries. As for Fulham, the club will be without freshly injured Bobby Zamora. Four weeks will keep out the team’s midfielder Steve Sidwell and both Diomansy Kamara and Philippe Senderos will miss due to back issues.

Monday, 28 February 2011 Match
Stoke City vs. West Bromwich Albion
The relegation zone is near for West Bromwich Albion, who are currently sitting in 17th position, and will look to inch away from that zone while they are on the road visiting Stoke City, who are currently in 10th place. Stoke City’s winger Matthew Etherington is unlikely to play in Monday’s Premier League fixture due to a back injury that caused him to leave last Saturday’s fifth-round FA Cup win early and to miss the 1-0 defeat on Wednesday against Arsenal. A hamstring injury has kept Stoke City’s defender Abdoulaye Faye off the field for the past four matches and will likely keep him off this week while a ruptured Achilles will keep striker Mamady Sidibe off the field. West Bromwich is set to have a full squad ready for Monday’s Barclays match. An illness did keep the club’s goalkeeper Scott Carson off the field last weekend, but he is scheduled to be fit and ready for this weekend’s fixture as is Youssouf Mulumbu who has been out due to a hamstring injury. Graham Dorrans as well as Jonas Losson should also be ready to play after a minor blow and ill health respectively.

Tuesday, 1 March 2011 Match
Chelsea vs. Manchester United
If fifth-place Chelsea can defeat first-place Manchester United on Tuesday, the club will possibly pull up into the top four of the fixture table due to the fact that Tottenham Hotspur won’t be competing this week.
