The tennis star Rafael Nadal while a favorite claimed his fifth French Open title on a Sunday at Roland Garros. This tennis star just proved himself worthy of everyone’s attention, he beaten Swede Robin Soderling.

Nadal was actually reported to be a 2/9 favorite to actually win the event with the popular Bet365. However, some said that for the tennis player to win the event, the player must be over first with psychological troubles he earned after not making it against Soderling in the fourth round last year which became actually his first unsuccessful try in the French Open. “Well, it was hard all the time,” said Nadal. “Well, not at the beginning. It was rather easy at the beginning, even for him. I think that, yes, it was a difficult match, especially from a mental standpoint. I had to return well, and I had the feeling that I was not capable of playing the way I wanted because he was so powerful. I had to be very careful on the serve because I could make mistakes, and this is what I did.”

Nadal felt so relieved with being able to make it against Soderling.

“At the beginning I lost my serve, and then I managed to win his serve and not to allow him to break me,” said Nadal. “When I really needed to play my best tennis, I had the opportunity of doing that. So I’m very happy I played this match in three sets, because it was very difficult.”

Clijsters a Doubt For French Open Due to Injury

The very talented Kim Clijsters is indeed now a doubt for the French Open because of injury. Everyone is expecting to see her at the tennis tournament which would be next month however because of injury which she actually obtained at Fed Cup, she might not be able to make it at the said tournament.

Clijsters actually obtained a foot injury at Fed Cup. She exactly got it during the tie against Estonia. Well, it can be considered as something not life-threatening however because of it she might be out for up to six weeks according to the Belgian tennis officials.

But expert fitness trainer Sam Verslegers was interviewed just recently and indeed said that Clijsters might become fit just in time for the French Open at Roland Garros in Paris on May 23 but also said that they won’t be taking risks. Roger Federer once again proved that he is a top tennis player when he won the Australian Open crown for the fourth time. He was against Andy Murray who was also became a favorite of some sports betting firms to win such most sought after crown.
