Woods the Favorite to Win World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational

WGC Bridgestone InvitationalDays before the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational, Tiger Woods was revealed the favorite for the big golf event. Reports have actually confirmed that he was chosen to be the favorite. Well, he doesn’t have even a single win for 2010 and he must be eager to win the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational to finally have even just one win and most probably for this he was selected.

The American professional golfer was revealed at 4/1 with bet365 as well as Boylesports. While the shortest priced European was at 11/1 in the person of Lee Westwood.

At the Open, Westwood actually finished second. Well, also a good number of sports betting enthusiasts opted to back the European golfer.

However, it was not Woods who was declared the winner of the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational. And it was not even Westwood. It was Hunter Mahan who was declared the winner of the huge golf event.

Mahan who was not a favorite with most of the sportsbooks won the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational. Of course he was happy to earn great title but then admitted that he never thought he would make it considering Woods seemed eager to get his first win for the year. Mahan beaten Woods by 30 shots at Firestone.

Mahan said: “I never, ever thought that would be possible. It never crossed my mind. It’s definitely different.”

But he has been doing well since start of the year. He actually won for the second time this year.

Mahan admitted: “The last couple of weeks, the game has been good. I knew it was there. I know I just had to keep going and keep trust it. This weekend, I definitely just kind of let everything go and just had some fun.”

We were not actually surprised to know that Mahan was able to beat Woods and then won the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational.
