WGC-Accenture Matchplay Favorites Revealed

Yes, golf enthusiasts will finally get to enjoy this year’s first World Golf Championship with the WGC-Accenture Matchplay starting on Wednesday at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Cup in Arizona. It will actually feature the world’s top 64 golf players. And the favorites to win the much awaited event were revealed to them just recently. The favorites were said to be Tiger Woods and Paul Casey. The former was revealed to be the favorite to win it with 12/1 with bookmaker Paddy Power and the latter the second favorite with 14/1.

The previous year, Casey made it to the final but ended only a runner-up to Ian Poulter. This year, it was said that he might simply make it to the final once again however might be not that lucky for another time around. Reports revealed that he has been fond of the matchplay format and desert golf but sometimes gets unlucky and fails to be successful on them. However, he has won the old HSBC World Match Play at Wentworth in 2006. He did so well at the course several years ago.

But aside from Woods and Casey, Robert Karlsson was said to be another player to watch out for in the WGC-Accenture Matchplay at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Cup in Arizona. The player was listed at 45/1 odds to win the much awaited event. Well, according to reports, the Swede might also simply make it with him winning the huge Qatar Masters and the Dubai World Championship last season. He has the skills and experience to win the event.

Let us all just find out who will really win this year’s WGC-Accenture Matchplay at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Cup in Arizona. The best golf players will be around to compete for the event’s prize worth millions. It may be the favorite to win or someone else.
