The Betting Begins – 138th British Open
The golf betting has begun and the bets are piling in for the British Open Championship 138th playing. This year’s big game is located at Turnberry golf resort in beautiful southwest Scotland.
This tournament will take place on the Ailsa Course, which was made larger in length a few years ago. This course is known to have the farthest space located between the player and the pin for holes 3, 7, and 17.
Subsequent to last years tournament being viewed from the comfort of his residence, Tiger Woods is sparked up and healthy and rearing to grab his 4th career big win at this event. He is priced at an overwhelming win of +225 favorite to take the win at this tournament.
Tiger Woods is being seen as a win at this particular event. He hasn’t played at Aislia Course but did manage to participate in 3 practice rounds prior to the actual start of the tournament and has remarked to reporters that he did not utilize his driver that much during the test rounds. He also stated that he’ll need to make sure that he is able to contain the ball within the fairway and away from the rough area.
The winner of the precedent two British Open Championships, Padraig Harrington, is on the board at a +2500 for the playing week. This Ireland native has not won a championship yet this season His best so far was at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with an 11th place winning finish.
Harrington has been playing a very long season of trying to play catch-up with himself. He has always tweaked his game and currently does not look like he has much confidence in himself for this week’s game. He stated to reporters that he is not even playing to get the win just playing to improve his game.
There is a player, Sergio Garcia that is sure trying to take the leader board at 2000. He is one of the players that are most admired in the entire world and has thus far been able to acquire a championship win. However, he did come relatively close two years ago at the British Open taking second to Harrington after a playoff.
Another in the midst of the betting folk this time is Rory McIlory at +2000. This Irish native player is just a stone’s throw away from the water at Turnberry and has a lot of people who are watching him play very closely. This lad is just twenty years of age is has major talent to add to the sport of golf. He is said to be one of the best talents of the British Open.
Lee Westwood is also getting plenty of attention from the famous odd maker. The United Kingdom native is now set at +2,500 to be claimed the winner at the British Open Championship. He is well remembered for his fourth place winning in the year 2004. Last year he was upset with the T-67th standing. In addition, he has the pressure of having to play alongside Tiger Woods in the initial two rounds of play. He also has another star in his group, Ryo Ishikawa of Japan; he also has a ton of media and fans following him around.
