Swine Flu Cases Opened New Betting Market

Swine flu cases affecting football teams and their players are actually not a good thing for many. But then, on a better side, these have opened new betting market recently.

A bookmaker actually offers new bets on swine flu affecting the Premier League, and this is in consideration to some Blackburn Rovers players being diagnosed having such flu.

Gary Megson, Bolton Wanderers manager, also revealed that his squad members also have the flu. Thus, William Hill makes it 6/1 that one or more top-flight matches will be postponed because of the swine flu cases here and there.

Graham Sharpe, the spokesperson of William Hill, said that “several clubs are apparently suffering from swine flu, so it is not impossible that games could be put at risk if entire squads are struck down”. And in connection with the problem, the sports betting firm is also offering 1/12 on having no swine flu postponements in this season’s Premier League.

In the meantime, the Health Protection Agency wants to remind all of the football players and others who are usually also in the football fields not to spit on the pitch during matches as this can just increase the risk of swine flu outbreak. Some preventive measures must be actually done.

Sam Allardyce, manager of Blackburn, believes that Chelsea might be the next team to be included in the list of teams affected by the life-threatening flu for his side played in the Premier League before end of last month.

The swine flu cases need so much attention from everyone. It is not only from the health workers, health agencies and the likes but from everyone. These cases are serious and too bad that they may really affect a lot of industries. No doubt, they must be given significant amount of attention.
