Poulter Withdrew From USPGA Championship

Ian PoulterIan Poulter was reported before the weekend suffering from a chest problem. And the golfer confirmed it to be true when he revealed during weekend that he will be withdrawing from the USPGA Championship at Whistling Straits before the final round because of lack of energy due to chest problem.

In the season’s last major, Poulter was lying last on five over par after rounds of 72, 72 and 77.

Poulter said: “Guys, it’s a no go this morning, body is not strong enough, had to withdraw. (I’m) gutted; first time I’ve ever had to do that when feeling ill. Flying back home to Orlando this morning, my bed is awaiting my arrival. I can’t get back quick enough.”

Poulter actually practiced with Henrik Stenson after the Swede indeed received serious medical attention for maybe a chest virus which since The Open has been troubling him. It was said that the golfer might even be suffering from a viral pneumonia which Poulter might wish he doesn’t have now.

Stenson at previous week’s WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in Akron missed the cut by 10 shots. He finished last.

Well, supporters of Poulter were saddened of course by the confirmation on the golfer’s withdrawal from the USPGA Championship. But then his health naturally must be considered first before anything else. He can participate in a lot of big golf events if only his health is perfect.

Supporters of Poulter though unhappy can just pray that their favorite doesn’t have any serious illness and that he recovers fast. Bed rest can help and seeing a doctor for check up but what can really help are the prayers from people who really care for the golfer. Though they felt bad about the withdrawal, they can’t do anything with it; instead they can just pray for the best for the golfer.
