O’Neill the Favorite to Succeed Benitez

Martin O’Neill was revealed recently by the popular 888 to be the betting firm’s favorite to actually succeed Rafa Benitez. He was unveiled by the famous betting firm to be the favorite for the Liverpool job given up by the Spanish manager.

O’Neill was revealed by 888 to be a 9/4 favorite to replace Benitez. While after the Aston Villa boss, Fulham chief Roy Hodgson was revealed to be the next leading in the market at 11/4 odds.

But an important part of the money earlier was believed to be on former Anfield manager Kenny Dalglish. The manager’s odds were only slashed to 3/1.

“Media pundits seem to have made up their minds that it is between O’Neill and Hodgson, but punters are interested in Dalglish returning on a permanent basis,” said William Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

The need for a new boss for Liverpool came in after Benitez actually departed from the team after serving as the boss of the team for six long years. And O’Neill along with Hodgson and Dalglish appeared recently as the candidates for the position.

However, the new boss will actually handle a team that ended up 7th in the Premier League last season and indeed no Champions League games to expect. The new boss will be greatly challenged managing the team. But all of the candidates we believe got what it takes to actually become successful in handing a team like Liverpool. All of the candidates got the ability to make it as far as managing a team like Liverpool is concerned.

But of course, we would still pray that the new boss, whoever would be, would actually become successful handling a team like Liverpool. We would still pray that the new boss would actually be able to improve form of the team.
