NFL Talks About the Lottery

A lot of people got angry at the NFL Network because Patrick actually decided to read the Virginia Lottery. Making matters worse, this advertisement was for tons of money, and they make it very simple to win this one by just scratching off the tickets, so almost anyone could actually do it.

Why does this anger football fans? It’s because they are usually really against the lottery, and they are known for going against states that don’t allow them to place bets on sports. The NFL has talked over and over about how gambling and betting are bad for you and how addicting it can actually become. They claim that there are tons of dangers if you decide that you want to bet on sports. They feel that sports’ betting is really bad and has a negative influence on the children.

There are a lot of children that attend the games, and you might not know when one of them could be eavesdropping or listening in. So with that in mind, the parents are also really outraged that the lottery was called out during the commercial break. Of course, some of the children started getting curious about the lottery after they announced it.

It’s not only the fact that children attended the game, but it is because people are mainly seeing the NFL Network as being two-faced. They say one thing, and then the Network does another. It confuses the fans, and they have every right to question it because of what just happened with the state of Delaware. That would be the very last thing that they would expect to hear at a game.

Most of this is being talked about because of a recent debate that happened between the NFL Network and the state of Delaware. The NFL Network sued that state for sports betting, and they won. It shocked the state of Delaware, and they are still trying to recover from it. People lost jobs and created a few problems with their budgets, after the state of Delaware lost the case, which was decided by a panel of only three judges.

People think that the lottery should be banned completely in the NFL games and that they shouldn’t have the scratch offs listed. They might lose fans if they don’t change this soon. This puts the NFL under a lot of pressure. What the fans might not know is that while it was going on, the lawyers and the managers more than likely did not even know that it was happening. They were really busy getting ready for the case. I highly doubt that kind of announcement will be made again during the commercial break.
