Manchester United Left For Marseille Without Key Players

It was confirmed by Didier Deschamps himself that Manchester United left for Marseille on a Tuesday without some key players. The football club traveled without players like Rio Ferdinand, Ryan Giggs, and the others. However, the Marseille coach admitted he doesn’t want to believe that the football club is weakened. For him, they should still all really prepare for their match as it remains to be a strong football club though without important players.

Deschamps said: “The winning culture is part of the DNA at a club like Manchester United. They always have talented players and people such as Nani, Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov can make the difference at any time. I have heard a lot about their style of play. But the most important thing is winning games. I concentrate on the fact they conceded one goal in six games. Maybe there is less fantasy about them than there was in the past but the Marseille team I was part of in 1993 wasn’t the nicest and we still won the European Cup.”

Well, aside from Ferdinand and Giggs, Manchester United was also without Michael Owen and Jonny Evans when leaving for Marseille. All of the players were said to be with injury.

Of course, absence of some key players will have an impact. They all have been helpful in games of Manchester United. In the Champions League last-16 tie match at Stade Velodrome on Wednesday, they will not be there to extend help. But Deschamps was aware that he should not be happy with the football club missing some important players. It has actually proven for several times that it can make it despite not having some key players. It can still win despite not having Ferdinand, Giggs, and the rest of the group on the sidelines.
