Ince Gave Up Position
It was confirmed recently by some reports that Paul Ince has indeed decided to just give up position as manager of Notts County after the football club lost five games in a row. He got the said position October of last year and just almost six months after, decided to also give it to somebody else.
Chairman Ray Trew said: “It was with a heavy heart that the board called a meeting in the aftermath of our defeat by Oldham (a 2-0 loss at home). The recent run of results, which saw us win just once in March, meant that we were all in agreement that we had to address the situation. When we sat down to discuss the matter with Paul, it became clear that we were in agreement that a parting of the ways would be the best way forwards for all parties.”
Yes, the reports also confirmed that it was also choice of Trew to also just let Ince to give up position as manager. It was said that the boss must have also realized that it will be just right to let him do it; it might be just good for Notts County. However, Trew was also believed to be thankful to the manager and former professional player for also trying to really be helpful at the Meadow Lane. He also really tried to help and be the manager that he should be. He will also be remembered as a one good part of the football club.
Trew said: “I would like to place on record my thanks to Paul for his effort and commitment during his time at Meadow Lane, I am certain that under other circumstances things could have been very different, but we believe that this decision is in the best interests of both Paul and the club.”
