Harrington Was Favorite to Win Vivendi Cup

Padraig Harrington, the three time major winner, became the favorite to win the Vivendi Cup to happen at Golf de Joyenval near Paris on a Thursday. He was one of the two Ryder Cup players believed to be really serious on winning the much-awaited event. The other player was Peter Hanson. Harrington became 8/1 favorite with VC Bet while Hanson 10/1 second favorite also with the very famous VC Bet.

The Vivendi Cup is a golf match played over two courses. The first 36 holes must be played as a Pro-am on the Retz and the final 36 by the top 65 professionals on the par 72 Marly. The courses have been short. They have been designed by Robert Trent Jones Snr.

Well, Harrington was believed to be a Ryder Cup wildcard pick. But it was said that he will be really making use of the event to have his play improved. And it was said that he will be without a tournament win since 2008 when he won the US PGA Championship, but as second in the recently held Irish Open and as a top ten finisher for five times so far this year, he will be doing well.

And Hanson was believed to be in good form. So far for this year, the player has two tournament wins, with the first can be remembered taking place in the Mallorca Open early summer and the second a follow up in the Czech Open last month. The second secured his place in the Ryder Cup team. It was said that like Harrington he will also be making use of the event to improve his play.
