Fulham Asking Richards to Resign

It is not one of the players in the English Premier League who is currently the talk of the town. But it is the chairman of the English professional league, Sir Dave Richards, who is now everyone’s concern.

Everyone is talking about Richards as English Premier League club Fulham has been actually asking him to resign due to his alleged transfer deal involvement. The club has been insisting that Richards called Peter Crouch personally to urge him to move to Tottenham Hotspur. Last summer the top-rated striker moved from Portsmouth to Tottenham Hotspur.

Fulham officials have been saying that Crouch could have moved to a different club, not Tottenham Hotspur, if Richards did not become personally involved in the transfer. They had actually almost finalized a deal with Portsmouth for Crouch for £11 million. But they were just then surprised that the striker opted to sign up for Spurs for £9 million.

Because of what the manager said during interview with Redknapp four days before the signing of the deal, Fulham ended up thinking about possible involvement of Richards in the closing of the deal.

Manager said: “I like Crouchie a lot ,but I don’t think it will be possible for us to do it. Sunderland and Fulham are also interested. I spoke to the chairman and he felt it looked too expensive.”

Fulham officials have figured out that most likely Richards called Crouch personally to move to Tottenham Hotspur. Well, for the officials, the chairman should have taken a neutral stance if true that he called Crouch. As chairman, he should have actually avoided to side with one team or group.

But of course, we still need to hear what the chairman has to say about what the Fulham officials have been saying about him. What they’ve been saying might be also not true.
