Footballer Knocked Out of World Poker Tournament
Some footballers are not only into football, they are also into other sports or just other things. Just like the Manchester United footballer Darren Fletcher who is not only into football, but actually also into poker. As a matter of fact, after the footballer failed to be a part of the World Cup in South Africa, the footballer took the chance to participate in the world poker tournament instead. However, Fletcher was knocked out of the said tournament which actually took place just the previous weekend.
The Scotland captain made use of the summer break earned after the country did not qualify for the World Cup in South Africa for the other thing that really interests him, poker. The captain, on summer break, actually went to Nevada City for some poker games.
And in the tournament’s eleventh event, Fletcher and his friends went to participate. However, the footballer ended up withdrawing from the game after losing all chips just an hour or so after he started playing.
“The big story was me walking into a royal flush when I had flopped a set of kings,” midfielder said.
Five years ago, Fletcher got really interested in playing poker and then decided to be seriously into it. And the footballer not only made a name in the football world but also in the poker world. He became one of the most recognized by being one of 2,500 or so players to have made it to the World Series.
And some of the bettors really following Fletcher, with his interest in poker, got also interested to show support to the footballer.
Well, footballers can be also into other sports or just other things. They can be not only into football of course. Like Fletcher he is just doing well with not only being into football but also being into poker.
