Flight Delays Caused by Icelandic Volcano Delayed Virgin’s Preparations for Spain
The flight delays caused by the Icelandic volcano have actually delayed the preparations of Virgin for Spain. And the bettors who have been going for this Formula One racing team might worry now.
Well, the bettors have the reason to feel troubled now. The team will only have one modified car. The team was not actually able to build two new cars with big enough fuel tanks in order to finish all races.
And John Booth was interviewed just recently and indeed expressed his thoughts regarding the trouble the team has been through.
“What should have been a useful three-week break in the calendar, and an opportunity to ensure we are fully prepared for the European season, turned into something of a race against time thanks to the fallout from the volcano,” said Booth.
The team boss also said that it took them five days after the last Grand Prix to actually be in England.
“It took up to five days after the Chinese Grand Prix before the entire team were back in England, so we had to rush headlong into preparations for Spain,” said Booth.
After the season-opening Bahrain Grand Prix, the team members realized that they need to work on having cars with big enough fuel tanks. And they actually thought of using the three-week break between the event in China and the Spanish event to do so. However, because of the flight delays caused by the Icelandic volcano, the team will not most likely be able to work on having such cars. The team doesn’t have enough time to now. Just too bad that most of them actually got stranded in China for up to five days specifically because their flights were delayed due to ash cloud from the Eyjafjallajokull volcano that is in the southern Iceland.
