Ferdinand Will Miss Man U’s First 2010-11 English Premier League Game

Rio FerdinandIt is confirmed that England captain and Man United center back Rio Ferdinand will miss the start of the 2010-11 English Premier League. He actually missed the 2010 World Cup because of injury but then the fans and even everyone in Man United expected that he can at least return to the pitch for the start of the English Premier League and not miss the team’s first league game against Newcastle United. But then a bulletin delivered by Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that he will miss the start of the league, he will miss the first league game which will be against Newcastle United.

Bulletin confirmed that he will be off the pitch for longer than expected. He will just miss Man United’s first 2010-11 English Premier League game.

The player himself said that he will be playing again after six weeks, he said, “Six weeks and I’ll be playing again. At the start of rehab we put dates on these injury comebacks, but sometimes the goalposts move a bit, as in this case.”

The center back got the injury almost two months ago. He was at the England training camp in Rustenburg, South Africa and training when he got the knee ligament injury.

After picking up the injury, Ferdinand returned to England. A lot of fans were saddened by his return. But then, they were not heavyhearted for long as the 2010-11 English Premier League season will soon start and they seemed also excited for it and that their favorite will most likely make it to be at the start of the new league season.

And like a real professional, Ferdinand focused on recovering from the injury he obtained in South Africa. But then, he can’t just make it to recover in time for the start of the new English Premier League season. At least he tried to, the fans will most likely understand.
