England as Favorites to Host the 2018 World Cup

2018 World CupMost likely, for many bookmakers, time flies really fast and so as early as now they are picking their favorites to host the 2018 World Cup which is to happen still many years from now. Like the one popular bookmaker, William Hill, that chosen England as favorites at 7/4 to actually host the said event.

But to just also mention, along with odds of England at 7/4 as favorites, odds of 9/4 for Spain-Portugal were listed and same as that of Australia at 3/1, Russia at 9/2 and Holland-Belgium at 20/1 that actually together hosted the 2000 European Championships.

Graham Sharpe, spokesperson for William Hill said, “England seem to have all the necessary facilities in place to host a World Cup but it remains to be seen whether the politics of world football will enable them to win the right to do so”. The bookmaker seemed to have faith on the capacity of England to host one huge event but then the politics of world football remains considerable. It is something to really take a look at.

Recently, it was reported that to help please fan of Manchester United and key executive committee member of FIFA, Amos Adamu, England’s 2018 World Cup bid leaders have drafted in Andrew Cole.

To win the 2010 World Cup, England are 5/1 second favorites for which Spain are 9/2 favorites and with Brazil at 11/2 third favorites.

Though the 2018 World Cup seems really interesting for many, it is the 2010 World Cup that seems really near. It will already happen next year and it is expected to draw in football fans and bettors from all over the world. The 2018 World Cup is still to happen several years from now, indeed several years of waiting.
