Cech to Miss Premier League Season Start
Yes, it seems that Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech will miss the beginning of the Premier League season after obtaining a calf injury in their training. On Tuesday, Cech tore a calf muscle in his right leg. And the club officials have confirmed that the goalkeeper will indeed be sidelined for up to one month because of the injury. He is likely to miss the start of the English professional league.
Chelsea will have an opening league game against West Bromwich Albion at Stamford Bridge on August 14 and then will be having a trip to Wigan a week later and the goalkeeper will most likely miss these. The 28-year-old will also be missing other Chelsea’s pre-season preparations including the friendlies against Ajax and Hamburg.
The club released a statement saying: “Scans have shown Petr Cech has torn a calf muscle in his right leg and the goalkeeper is expected to be out for a month. He suffered the injury yesterday (Tuesday) in training and is now expected to miss the start of our competitive season, as well as the remainder of our pre-season friendlies.”
The club will find it hard to start the Premier League season just right with the absence of Cech. But then of course boss Carlo Ancelotti will do anything just for the club to be able to begin the English professional league just right though without Cech.
Ancelotti might just try to have as substitute either veteran Portuguese keeper Hilario or Ross Turnbull. The Blues boss will of course not let the club have a bad start because of absence of Cech. They all will find it tough to begin the Premier League season just right without the goalkeeper but then they will have to make it, just too bad that Cech earned an injury which eventually made him miss the English professional league start.
