Capello’s Departure Suggested Following England’s Poor World Cup Start
Some bettors have been just backing the chance of Fabio Capello leaving either by resigning or being dismissed from job by the time World Cup ends on July 11. And the poor start of the Three Lions in the World Cup has been the reason of some bettors for doing so.
The famous William Hill has actually slashed odds on such happening from 10/3 to 2/1. But William Hill has listed odds of 4/11 on the Italian remaining with the England national football team.
England drawn 1-1 with the USA and 0-0 with Algeria and just got a Wednesday clash with Slovenia to actually win in order to advance.
For some, if England will not be successful in the clash with Slovenia it should just be a matter of when Capello will go.
“As far as England fans are concerned it is now a case of when will Fabi-go rather than if he will go,” said spokesman Graham Sharpe.
While the public service broadcaster BBC has suggested also that Capello should just resign if England will not make it against Slovenia in Port Elizabeth. Just probably the best thing for Capello to do is to resign in case Three Lions will not succeed.
But of course, Capello must have also got some supporters for his continued management of the national football team. He has also shown how far he can go managing a team. But then in this year’s FIFA World Cup, he and his side might not just be good enough. The others must have prepared well.
Whatever happens in this year’s World Cup, Capello will remain to some of his supporters a good manager. And if England will not actually make it in this year’s big football event, to some of his supporters could be just a matter of luck.
