Birmingham City Beaten by Manchester City 5-1

Everyone got to enjoy six great English Premier League games the previous weekend. The games were all entertaining then, but everyone most probably got to really enjoy the game between Manchester City and Birmingham City.

Well it has been pretty obvious for weeks that the English Premier League title will go to one of the three teams strongly vying for it – Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal. Thus, it was so thrilling then for everyone to get to see great game between two teams not belonging to the said three teams.

Manchester City and Birmingham City actually during their game performed well. The Citizens showed what really it has to take to be fourth place in the English Premier League standings while the Blues showed though struggling in the standings can still make it.

However, the struggling team was eventually beaten by the top ranked team. The result of the game: Manchester City 5-1 Birmingham City.

Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish seemed shocked or may be confused after the game. He conceded that, “It was a strange game. When they click, top teams can do that to you. But we have the capacity to bounce back and make this just a blip. We have to win the next game against Hull City.”

McLeish most likely did not even get to think about his team being beaten by team of Roberto Mancini. But then, he has been known for being strong. The defeat which for him was then unexpected will just be something that soon he’ll get over with. He’d move on for sure.

While Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini was able to express his happiness with regards to the result of the game. But he admitted that his side might not be able to get even three or four goals in game against Manchester United however he expressed his optimism about winning 1-0.
