Aston Villa Now the Favorites to Win the Carling Cup
After their 6-4 win against Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park the other day, January 20, Aston Villa became favorites to win the Carling Cup. William Hill regarded them as the club to most likely bring home the cup trophy.
To win the cup, the Birmingham club are listed at odds of 11/8. However, if what club will be their opponent, it is still not clear. Most probably, it will be revealed next Wednesday.
William Hill deemed Aston Villa as a good choice, they are likely to win the Carling Cup because of what they have showed at Villa Park.
Aston Villa can be remembered taking a 1-0 lead into the second leg but then within half an hour fell two goals behind after a brace from Croatian Nikola Kalinic.
However, Martin O’Neill’s men didn’t just allow the opponent to continue leading in score. With a goal, they fought back and then secured an equalizer from the penalty spot.
While Manchester United are listed at odds of 7/4 to win the cup trophy. And Manchester City at odds of 2/1 also to win the cup trophy. They were actually able to take a 2-1 lead to Old Trafford following the first leg of Tuesday.
After the Semi-Final Leg 2 will be the Final event which will be on February 28. We are all near to the revelation day, soon we will know who will really dominate the Carling Cup. Will it really be Aston Villa? Or will it be another club? Soon we will know the answer for these.
