Andy Murray Leads the Betting on the Winner of the Sports Personality of the Year Title in 2010

Andy_MurraySports betting enthusiasts are now up to who will going to bring home the Sports Personality of the Year title in 2010. One online bookmaker gave these people idea on who are the personalities that are likely to take home the said title.

Well, Andy Murray is now at odds of 4/1 to bring home the Sports Personality of the Year title in 2010. According to William Hill, the tennis player now leads the betting on the winner of such title. Murray is likely to win it over.

But of course, other contenders for the title also have the chance to take it home. There is Wayne Rooney who along with Lewis Hilton backed at 6/1. Also there is David Beckham at 10/1 and of course the one who missed the chance to win the title this year, Jenson Button, at 10/1.

It was Ryan Giggs, Beckham’s former team-mate, who actually won the Sports Personality of the Year title this year. The awarding happened in the weekend.

In the 2010 edition of the giving of the award, football is probably to play a significant part considering the big impact that the World Cup in South Africa will have on sports generally. This according to spokesperson for William Hill, Graham Sharpe.

The man from a popular bookmaker actually said, “if England even go close to winning the World Cup, it will almost certainly be a footballer who wins the award next year”.

The battle between players for the prestigious title can go stiffer as time passes by. But at this point, it is the tennis player Andy Murray who is likely to be on the lead in regards to odds on winning such Sports Personality of the Year Title in 2010. Will he be on the lead until the awarding of the title? Let us all wait and see.
