Ancelotti Would Not Sell Cole

Ashley Cole was recently reported serious about leaving Chelsea. It was said that he talked to Carlo Ancelotti and said to the manager that he has been just so desperate to leave the club. And also said that he is thinking about being reunited with former Blues boss Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid after leaving say he has opportunity to.

And someone close to the club actually confirmed that there was a meeting that took place and that Cole in the meeting admitted that he wants to leave the club but then it was because of his personal situation.

Someone close to the club said: “It was a very amicable meeting, but Ashley made it clear that because of his personal situation he feels it is in his best interests to leave the club. He told Ancelotti that he will be very sad to leave and that it had been a privilege playing for the club during such a successful time in its history.”

And Mourinho, who is now the manager of Real Madrid, then admitted that they tried to bring Cole to Madrid. And the Real Madrid boss said that they expected a deal will be reached eventually. However, Ancelotti remained inflexible about not selling Cole.

Of course, Mourinho accepted Ancelotti’s decision to remain inflexible when it comes to not selling the player. He believed that they should respect a coach’s decision.

Mourinho said: “Carlo Ancelotti was very, very clear and that’s the best way in football. He killed the story by saying, ‘No money can buy Ashley Cole, Ashley Cole needs to stay’. I think Ashley thought about leaving for personal and professional reasons. We thought about him because he’s a good player who I enjoyed working with, but when a coach says no, it’s no, and we have to accept that.”
