2010 Academy Awards Outlook

The 2010 Academy Awards is being held on March 7 with hosting by Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin – what a pair of jokers!  It should be interesting, but what is more interesting are the odds for the awards.

This year at the 82^nd annual Oscars, it seems that Avatar is a favorite for the Best Picture with The Hurt Locker coming in next.  Avatar, a 2009 science fiction –somewhat animated, was directed and written by James Cameron who has decent odds for winning Best Director, although not the favorite.  The favorite holds for Kathryn Bigelow, the director of The Hurt Locker.

As for the number of awards that Avatar will win seems to be the highest for five while there is also odds set that Avatar will receive more awards than its Oscar-rival, The Hurt Locker.

The Best Actor favorite appears to be Jeff Bridges from Crazy Heart with the underdog going to Jeremy Renner, the key star in The Hurt Locker.

Best Actress favorite is none other than the amazing Sandra Bullock for her fantastic performance in The Blind Side.  Meryl Streep is also up for Best Actress for her outstanding performance in Julie & Julia.

Be sure to place your bets and tune in to the 82^nd Oscars with hosts Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin at the 2010 Academy Awards on Sunday, March 7 on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.
