Ben Roethlisberger Could Be in Trouble

It has been reported in various news sources that the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Ben Roethlisberger, is allegedly being accused of sexually assaulting a woman. Evidence is still being collected in regards to this case at this time so there is no official word yet of the outcome; however, this is the second time in the past year that the finger has been pointed at him in terms of sexual assault.

This supposed unpleasant incident took place in Milledgeville, Georgia, at a nightclub known as the Capital City, early Friday morning. The young woman is a 20 year old student whom attends Georgia College and Southern University.

The town’s police Deputy says that the case is still undergoing investigation and is therefore, still active, and information will not be released for a little while.

The allegations have been confirmed by the quarterback’s agent, Ryan Tollner, and he also says that Roethlisberger has been more than cooperative with the police. Tollner believes that this case will be dismissed after the groundwork has concluded; however, Fred Bright, the prosecutor on the case, does not believe that this will be the case nor would he comment further.

TMZ reported that the 20 year old alleged victim has been treated and released by an area hospital prior to being interviewed by the police on Friday.

As for the Pittsburgh Steelers? There has not yet been any comment regarding any information being gathered concerning this particular incident.

Last year, in July of 2009, a civil suit was filed against Roethlisberger by a woman residing in Nevada claiming that the quarterback had sexually assaulted at a celebrity golf tournament a year earlier. The allegations had been denied by Roethlisberger persistently and there were never any criminal charges filed against the quarterback.
